Sectional Super Saturday
The Merced-Mariposa Sectional Super Saturday competition is a speaking event that allows FFA members from each grade level to develop their critical thinking skills, decision-making skills, and communication while learning more about the FFA and what it means to be a leader.

Creed Speaking
Freshman FFA Members have the chance to learn and recite the FFA Creed before answering questions on their interpretation on the Creed. This is a five-paragraph text written and adapted for the FFA expresses our belief and hope in the agriculture industry, and the core values of citizenship and patriotism. This allows first year members to learn more about the FFA, while developing public speaking skills. |

Impromptu Speaking
The Impromptu Speaking competition tests Sophomore FFA members' ability to think quickly while presenting their knowledge of agriculture. This includes developing a brief speech regarding a randomly chose question, quote, or keyword, all addressing agriculture, FFA, leadership, and more. |

Job Interview
The Job Interview Contest addresses members' employability and interview skills. Contestants prepare a cover letter and extensive knowledge regarding a potential job within the agriculture field. |

Prepared Public Speaking
The Prepared Public Speaking contest allows participants to address an agricultural topic in a six to eight minute speech, showcasing their knowledge on a topic while exhibiting public speaking and communication skills to a panel of judges. |

Extemporaneous Public Speaking
The Extemporaneous Public Speaking contest requires contestants to prepare 5 resources in order to compile a speech regarding a randomly chosen agricultural topic. The speech must be from 4-6 minutes and written within the 30 minute preparation time. Contestants will then present their speech to a panel of judges and answer a series of questions regarding their topic. |
